S.C. Politics Strike Again

As if the country weren't already up to its ears in S.C. political stories here comes Alvin Greene.

Greene spent no money (other than a $10,000 filing fee) and defeated a well-established state politician to win the Democratic nomination for S.C. Senate and will take on Jim DeMint. Oh, did we mention that he's got a pending felony charge against him for a lewd act and can't tell you where he campaigned or how he paid for gas to travel the state?

Seems the country now not only has an appetite for ridiculous political stories, but more specifically ridiculous S.C. political stories. And we seem willing to keep 'em coming.

Meet Mr. Greene:

Ian,
Great find here. I think everyone knows that there's more to this story than meets the eye. This guy clearly was put into this situation by someone trying to take advantage of him.

That said, what's the problem? Unlike many other politicians, we know this guys record. Felony arrest for lewdness. Unlike Larry Craig, Foley, or Clinton, we won't be too surprised by any further antics. This guy has nothing to lose and nothing to hide.

Plus, as a unemployed military veteran living with his folks, I think this guy has as much, if not more, in common with the average South Carolinian than Jim Demint does.

Enter the land of the ridiculous.

Even worse is that Clyburn thinks it is a GOP conspiracy.

Yikes.
