I've left behind a resume filled with preppy retail (Structure and Eddie Bauer) and almost a decade in journalism to embrace my inner geek.

I've been blessed with an incredible wife and two gorgeous children. We live in beautiful Port Royal, S.C.

This is gonna sound terrible ...

but I generally don't like people.

Now that's not completely true. I have been blessed to know so many good-hearted, kind, sincere, loving, unselfish people like my beautiful bride and loving mother. 

And it would be impossible for me to name all of the friends who mean the world to me. Some of these friendships are relatively new, while others have lasted decades.

But still there are times when I just shudder at the thought of people. Whether watching TV and seeing all that is wrong in the world, or simply part of a large crowd and desperately needing to cling to the wall - I just have a hard time with people. 

(Sidenote: Carolyn and I already see that Isaac takes after me while Aaron is much more outgoing and much more of a people person, like his mother)

So why am I telling you this? Why am I casting stones at myself?

Because deep down I know that people are good, and the more people I meet the better off I am, and the better I become.

Why Fuse 843? Because there's a generation of 'Creatives' coming behind us.

wrote this blog for the Fuse843 site but also wanted to share it on my personal blog.
Why Fuse843?
We’ve already offered a couple of answers for that since we went live about a month ago.
We need to connect. We need to know that there are others like us out there. We need to promote, support and learn from each other.
But we also need to understand that there’s another local generation of ‘creatives’ coming in behind us, and we need to be there to support them.
