So different  

Carolyn and I always seem to discuss how different Isaac and Aaron are.

Isaac hates being woken up, hates being touched in the morning and generally is a grouch until he’s had his morning Pop-Tart – just like dad.

While Aaron wakes up ready to take on the world – just like mom.

Isaac is reserved and a bit of an introvert – like dad. Aaron is outgoing, and happy to introduce himself to anyone – like mom.

How is he old enough?

Those who know me know that the emotions don’t flow too freely from me.

So that I almost shed a tear after finishing putting Isaac’s new, twin bed together on Friday night needs to be acknowledged and cataloged.

How is he old enough, I wondered.

How is he old enough to already be in a twin bed?

How is he old enough to run into his bedroom no fewer than 12 times over the two hours it took me to put his bed together to ask: “Dad, when will my bed be ready?”

But it was more than that, because this is more than a bed.
