I've left behind a resume filled with preppy retail (Structure and Eddie Bauer) and almost a decade in journalism to embrace my inner geek.

I've been blessed with an incredible wife and two gorgeous children. We live in beautiful Port Royal, S.C.

This is gonna sound terrible ...

but I generally don't like people.

Now that's not completely true. I have been blessed to know so many good-hearted, kind, sincere, loving, unselfish people like my beautiful bride and loving mother.

And it would be impossible for me to name all of the friends who mean the world to me. Some of these friendships are relatively new, while others have lasted decades.

But still there are times when I just shudder at the thought of people. Whether watching TV and seeing all that is wrong in the world, or simply part of a large crowd and desperately needing to cling to the wall - I just have a hard time with people.

(Sidenote: Carolyn and I already see that Isaac takes after me while Aaron is much more outgoing and much more of a people person, like his mother)

So why am I telling you this? Why am I casting stones at myself?

Because deep down I know that people are good, and the more people I meet the better off I am, and the better I become.

I felt honored to be part of Beaufort's first co-working experiment today. Co-working basically is the premise of getting people out of their home or small offices and bringing them into a collaborative environment where they can create and learn from one another. We held this co-working event through Fuse843

We had about 10 people there today and it was good. People shared ideas, and more importantly, shared a little about themselves. We all got to know each other a little more, and I got to meet some new, very nice, very smart people.

I agree with you. I'm a type C, my natural tendency is to avoid people. Thank God for the wonderful people who never gave up on my and taught me to be outgoing. I never would have made yesterday otherwise =)

And yes, It was fun, and a valuable experience. Co-working ftw
